Originally purchased by Billy Joel, this 2006 built FJ40 ICON was built from a 1971 Toyota FJ40. The exterior is finished in Rocky Mountain Gray. It is one of a very few built with the removable hard top and doors. The top and door body panels are vintage Toyota parts, and the rest of the body is all new 5052 H32 marine grade 5/32" aluminum (hood is new Toyota steel). The body, chassis and most details are powder coated. Engine is a modified fuel injected GM RamJet 430hp 383 cast iron V8. Transmission is a NV4500 manual five speed, transfer case is shift on the fly part time 4x4 Atlas II. Axles are Dana based custom built Dynatrac assemblies. Front is a D44 with Superior axles, rear is a Dana 60 Pro-rock high pinion. Four wheel disc brakes, power assisted. Underside of body and fenders, plus inside floor surfaces, are coated in poly-urea.  The exhaust is ceramic coated, Mandrel Bent, Stainless. The interior is equipped with Damasked Dash Panel Set, Front Heated Seats, with textiles from OE Mercedes and Chilewich (woven sections).   Other Features include ARB Front Bull Bar Bumper, Kaymar Dual Pivot Rear Bumper, ATX Teflon Wheels with All Terrain 285/75R16 BFG Tires, Warn 8274 Winch with Recovery Gear Package, Alpine CD With MB Quart Speakers, XM Antennae, IPOD Interface & File Enhancer, AMP & Base Package.
