Concept Cars

EXP 15

Bentley has been an innovator for more than a hundred years, constantly pushing the limits of what a luxury car can be. While this unrivalled creativity is demonstrated most effectively in current production cars, it has always been the concept cars that offer the most radical visions of the future.

Creating the future

As the latest in a long line of innovative concept cars, EXP 15 ushers in a number of revolutionary ideas. Core concepts

Throughout the car, the line between the digital and the physical is blurred. Based on a principle the designers call ‘Magical Fusion’, it includes features like a full-width digital dashboard. Integrated into the screen lies the ‘Mechanical Marvel’. This remarkable feature floats in the space between the digital and physical worlds, offering 3 modes: interactive digital display, physical solid dash or a magical combination of both. It can indicate the car’s direction of travel, the state of its electric charge and more – or simply act as a delightful centrepiece.

New logo

A new emblem for a new era

In parallel with the unveiling of EXP 15, Bentley has revealed a new ‘Winged B’ logo. The original was designed back in 1919 and has only been amended four times since. This fifth iteration preserves key details, including the diamond pattern of the inner wings and the B ‘centre jewel’ – which has been redesigned for use with or without the wings. The wings are now more precise and the overall shape cleaner, embodying the first step into an exciting new future for Bentley.

A shrine to Bentley design

A new concept car. A new logo. And now an entirely new design studio: the place where every new Bentley will be designed for years to come. Built on the same site as the factory in Crewe, England, the new studio is a purpose-built facility, where Bentley’s renowned team of automotive design experts can experiment with the very latest in materials and production techniques – all in the process of bringing the next generation of Bentleys to life.

Blue Train

Inspired by icons of the past

Like every Bentley, EXP 15 features details inspired by Bentley cars of the past. In fact, its upright grille, ‘endless’ bonnet, three-seat layout and rearward cabin are all deliberately derived from one classic Bentley in particular: the iconic 1930 Bentley Speed Six ‘Blue Train’ grand tourer.

That car was driven in its sedan form by Bentley Boy Woolf Barnato and made famous when he raced against ‘Le Train Bleu’ from Paris to Calais, eventually making it all the way to his club in London before the train pulled into Calais station.
